Conceived and directed by Estelle, who led the interior architecture and interior design, the project reflects a deeply personal process; a slow build shaped by intent, restraint, and the realities of a modest budget. The design creates spatial clarity: deeply recessed windows that celebrate the thick traditional stone walls , considered sightlines that foster warmth through connection, and a kitchen designed around proportion and simplicity rather than excess.
This Cotswolds project has created a dialogue between past and present, craftsmanship and clarity. Clay plaster walls, exposed beams, and stone floors are paired with understated colour and joinery that respond to light and landscape.
This feature is both a recognition of Estelle’s original vision and a celebration of design that feels lived, thoughtful, and profoundly rooted in place.
