Wright Brothers

Refurbishment of a grade II listed unit of the historic Spitalfields market building into Wright Brothers’ third London restaurant serving up fresh oysters and shellfish from their oyster farm in Cornwall.

The existing unit was separated by a spine wall running through the middle of the space. Undercover united the two sides of the restaurant with four new arched openings along the wall, stripping it back to the original brickwork and adding a 16m long oyster bar that when sat at provides diners with a direct view of the Chefs at work. The restaurant featured the first live oyster, crab and lobster tanks in the UK on the restaurant floor from which customers could choose their dinner offering a ‘sea-to-plate’ dining experience. The interior styling is a combination of luxurious fine dining with the rougher textures of industrial fishing boats.
